I never said they had "nothing" in common....but it's not like Norwegian and Swedish..
Knowing one doesn't give you much of a leg up learning the other... Germans would struggle more with Swedish than Swedes with German.
Fact of the matter is, each person evolves through similar stages of development regardless which generation gaps they arrived so far nor the ancestral lineages they are part of daily.
